Crested Cranes midfielder, Joan Nabirye has signed a two-year contract with the Turkish side, Tranzonspor Petrol Ofisi kadin FC.

She had recently parted ways with Russian side FK Spartak Moscow after both parties agreed on a contract termination.

The midfielder, who featured for Belarusian club, FK Minsk in 2023 before her contract ran out, to become a free agent thus joining FK Spartak Moscow.

“I am happy to be joining a team in one of the most competitive leagues. I will do my best to help Tranzonspor Petrol FC win trophies at the national and international levels,” said Nabirye.

Nabirye was the second Ugandan to join a Russian Women’s Super League side, with Fauzia Najjemba having signed for Dynamo Moscow.

The midfielder has previously played for Muteesa I Royal University, Asubo Gafford Ladies, Kampala Queens, Vihiga Queens FC in Kenya where she won two Kenyan Women’s Premier League titles and helping the team win the 2022 Zonal CECAFA/CAF Women’s Champions League qualifier.

She also played for Uganda at the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Morocco.
