The Uganda U-17 national football team, the Cubs, has finalized preparations for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled from March 30 to April 19, 2025, in Morocco.

Head coach, Brian Ssenyondo announced a 22-man squad, which departed for Morocco on Thursday evening to continue their training and participate in friendly matches ahead of the tournament.
Uganda is placed in Group A alongside host nation Morocco, Tanzania, and Zambia. The Cubs will commence their campaign against Morocco on March 30 at El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia.

The tournament also serves as a qualification pathway for the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar later this year, with the top 10 African teams earning slots at the global event.
The team’s delegation is led by John Chrizestom Kalibala, with Brian Ssenyondo as head coach, assisted by Ronald Ssali and goalkeeping coach Kenneth Magada.
The technical team also includes fitness coach Simeon Massa, trainer Dennis Kizito, team manager Bashir Mutyaba, team doctors Michael Gumisiriza and Ivan Kulika, kits manager Ddamba Veron, media officer Joel Kivumbi, and delegation staff Peter Mbogo.

The Cubs aim to make a significant impact in the tournament and secure a historic qualification for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
