A team of eight talented Ugandan motorcross riders has been sent off to represent the country in the prestigious 2025 FIM Junior Motocross World Championship Cup, scheduled to take place in Romagne, France, on July 5th-6th, 2025. The send-off ceremony was held at the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) headquarters in Lugogo.

The Team
The riders, selected based on their impressive performance in the National Championship fifth round in Kaliisizo, will compete in various categories:
- MX125cc: Dan Mitima and Jerome Junior Mubiru
- MX85cc: Adam Kabuye, Isaac Mutima, Jonathan Semakula Katende, and Miguel Katende
- MX65cc: Ethan Paul Musede and Jamairah Makumbi
A New Generation of Talent
This event provides a platform for young riders to showcase their skills, gain international exposure, and build friendships across borders. Uganda and South Africa are the only African countries participating in the championship.

The FMU Deputy Vice President and team manager, Arthur Blick Jnr, emphasized the importance of representing Uganda with pride and inspiring young athletes to dream big. “This is not just about competing, but about representing the spirit of Uganda. Your participation at this level inspires countless young Ugandans to dream big and believe in their potential.”

Confidence in the Team
George Semakula, a key figure in preparing the team, expressed confidence in the riders’ abilities to perform exceptionally in France. With Uganda’s participation in this championship marking its third appearance, the team is eager to make a mark on the international stage.
Team Travel Arrangements
The team will be traveling in groups with Musede family departing today, SEMKA Racing Academy riders; Jerome Mubiru, Katende brothers, and Adam Kabuye will fly out on Wednesday as the remaining team members depart tomorrow.
