Ugandan netball star Faridah Kadondi has ended her stint with Nottingham Forest Netball, closing the chapter on a 10-month spell that began in September 2024. Her departure comes after an impactful run in the team’s maiden campaign in the revamped Netball Super League 2.0 (NSL 2.0).

Kadondi, known for her defensive prowess as both goal defender (GD) and goalkeeper (GK), featured in seven matches for the club and was a vital piece of their competitive fifth-place finish in an eight-team league.

Having risen through the ranks at Makindye Weyonje Netball Club in Uganda, Kadondi’s move to Nottingham Forest marked a significant step in her career and a proud moment for Ugandan netball. Her performances in England won admiration not just for her tactical awareness and sharp defending, but also for her leadership and positive presence within the squad.

During her brief yet impactful spell, she quickly became a fan favorite praised for her consistency, dedication, and character on and off the court.

In a farewell statement, Nottingham Forest Netball Head Coach Chelsea Pitman lauded Kadondi’s influence, saying:

“Faridah brought immense value throughout the season not just in defence but in helping us define who we are as a team. Her energy, positivity, and professionalism left a mark that goes beyond the games she played. She’ll be dearly missed.”

Coach Pitman went on to describe Kadondi as a “ray of sunshine,” highlighting how her infectious spirit helped shape the club’s emerging identity in its debut season.

Kadondi’s release is the second exit of a Ugandan international from an English netball club in as many years. In 2024, fellow She Cranes player Haniisha Muhameed Nakate parted ways with Surrey Storm after a season in the Netball Super League.

While her next move is yet to be announced, Kadondi’s departure leaves behind a legacy of professionalism and progress and plenty of anticipation for where she might land next in her growing career.
