BUL FC head coach Kikomeko Abbey has been handed a six-month suspension from all football-related activities by the FUFA Disciplinary Panel (FDP) following his violent and threatening conduct during the Stanbic Uganda Cup fixture against Kitara FC.
The FDP found Kikomeko guilty of physically confronting a steward and engaging in violent and threatening behavior towards match officials during the ill-tempered match.
His actions were deemed a serious breach of the FUFA Competition Rules and a violation of the standards expected of individuals in technical roles.
In addition to the six-month suspension, which takes immediate effect, the coach has also been fined UGX 5,000,000.
In a statement, FUFA emphasized that such conduct tarnishes the image of the sport and will not be tolerated: “The integrity and safety of match officials and stadium personnel is paramount. Coaches and other technical officials are expected to lead by example, and any form of violence or intimidation will be met with the highest level of disciplinary action.”
Kikomeko’s absence comes at a crucial stage of the season for BUL FC, who are vying for silverware and stability in both the league and cup competitions. The club is now expected to make interim technical adjustments as the suspension sidelines one of their key figures.
This marks one of the most significant sanctions issued this season, underlining FUFA’s zero-tolerance stance on misconduct.
