The 12th edition of the Inter-University Beach Soccer Championship is indeed shaping up to be an exciting showdown, especially with top university teams set to battle for supremacy at Bamboo Gardens Beach Soccer Arena in Kasanje this Sunday.
With seven universities; MUBS, St. Lawrence, Kampala University, Kampala International University, Buganda Royal Institute, Muteesa I Royal University, and Cavendish University confirmed for the tournament, fans can expect high-energy action and intense competition.

MUBS enters as the defending champions, while St. Lawrence, having dominated in 2022 and 2023, will be eager to reclaim their crown.
However, the likes of Kampala University and Cavendish University will be looking to shake things up and challenge the usual powerhouses. This unpredictability adds an extra layer of excitement, making it a must-watch event.
Beyond the competition, the championship plays a crucial role in talent identification, with the Uganda Beach Soccer Association (UBSA) and the Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) using it as a scouting platform for the national team, the Sand Cranes.
The top three teams will earn medals and other prizes, giving players even more motivation to perform at their best.
Since its inception in 2011, the tournament has grown into a major event for university beach soccer, fostering both competition and development. With so much at stake, this year’s edition promises to be another thrilling chapter in its history.
