Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) qualifed for the semi finals for the very first time ever since joining the Pepsi University Football League in 2016.
The Mbale based side beat Kampala University 1-0 in the return leg quarter final match to qualify 2-1 on aggregate having settled to one all draw in the first leg last Friday in Nsambya. Ismael Tambula’s 14th minute striker off Faisal Mumali assist saw IUIU take the day.

They join Uganda Martyrs and St Lawrence as other universities to qualify for semi finals. The fourth team to make it to the last four between Bugema and Muteesa 1 Royal will be decided on Friday after the return leg between both sides didn’t end to fans violence.
The semi finals draws will also be conducted on Friday at Kati Kati Restaurant.
