The JKL Lady Dolphins produced a dominant display to secure an emphatic 82-52 win over the JT Lady Jaguars in a National Basketball League showdown held at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.
Bouncing back from a disappointing midweek loss to the UCU Lady Canons, the reigning champions looked sharp and focused throughout the contest. After a closely contested first quarter, which ended with a 19-14 advantage courtesy of a late layup by Sandra Ayikoru Wangeshi, JKL gradually took control of the game.

In the second quarter, the Lady Jaguars struggled to break through the Dolphins’ organized defense, managing just 14 points. The Dolphins, in contrast, turned up the intensity and built a 43-28 cushion by halftime.
The third quarter saw the Lady Dolphins tighten their grip further, limiting the Lady Jaguars to just nine points while extending their lead to 61-37. By the final whistle, JKL had cruised to a resounding 30-point win, reaffirming their status as one of the league’s top contenders.
Hope Akello delivered a standout performance, registering a huge double-double with 18 points and 19 rebounds. She received strong support from teammates Ruth Letaru (14 points), Zainah Lokwameri (13 points), and Tamasha Nsubuga (10 points), all of whom made valuable contributions on the offensive end.

Despite the heavy defeat, the Lady Jaguars had their moments. Mercy Batamuliza led their scoring with 13 points, while Shakira Nanvubya and Maimuna Nabbosa chipped in with 11 and 10 points respectively.
The win lifts the Lady Dolphins’ spirits as they look to build momentum heading into the next round of fixtures, while the Jaguars will aim to regroup and return stronger.
