The Kampala Hockey Swans, Uganda’s premier women’s hockey team has been flagged off for the Africa Cup for Club Champions (ACCC) in Egypt.

The team’s qualification follows their outstanding performance in the 2023 National Hockey League, where they demonstrated unparalleled skill, determination, and teamwork.

This marks a significant milestone for the Kampala Hockey Swans and Ugandan hockey as whole, as the team aims to showcase the country’s talent on the continental stage.

The ACCC is scheduled to take place in Ismailia, Egypt, from the January 30th to February 7th, 2024 bringing together the best hockey clubs across Africa.

“The team is incredibly proud of its achievements and is excited to represent Uganda at this highly competitive tournament, “said Vanessa Abeja, Team Captain of the Kampala Hockey Swans.

This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved, from the players to the coaching staff and our supporters.

Kampala Hockey Swans have been preparing rigorously for the ACCC, with intense training sessions and strategic planning under the guidance of their coaching team.

The team is confident in their ability to compete at the highest level and is eager to make a mark at the tournament.

Jordan Michael Mpiima, Coach of the Kampala Hockey Swans, intimates that the team is determined to give its best and make Uganda proud. “Participating in the ACCC is a huge opportunity to gain exposure, experience, and recognition on the international stage, while showcasing Uganda’s talent.”
