Nkumba University sent a loud statement of intent in the Pepsi University Football League with a dazzling 6-0 demolition of Soroti University yesterday at the Nkumba main pitch in Entebbe.
In a performance brimming with energy and precision, striker Abbey Kavuma once again stole the spotlight scoring twice and missing a penalty as the “Beach Boys” showcased their attacking flair.

Kavuma struck early in the 15th minute and doubled the advantage before halftime with a clinical finish. Though he missed from the spot minutes later, his relentless pressing and movement caused constant problems for the visitors until he made way for Marvin Kagimu midway through the second half.
Ismail Lubega, Solomon Bwiruka, Nasser Mwebe, and Kagimu completed the scoring spree as Nkumba recorded back-to-back home wins and climbed to second in Group C on six points one behind leaders Kyambogo University.

For Soroti, who had enjoyed an unbeaten start to the campaign, the heavy defeat was a rude awakening. Their early promise against YMCA and Busitema came undone in Entebbe, where Nkumba’s speed, structure, and superior finishing made all the difference.
