With two Zambian top shooters (Kelvin ‘FIKOTI’ Nkandu & Moses Mofya) in Uganda for two months, they had the pleasure of participating in one of prestigious Pool Association of Uganda end of year championships.
The two Zambian really displayed what could be called beautiful pool. With one (Kelvin Nkandu) eventually reaching the final of the championship against the former seed 1 (Kayanja Ibra) in what was determined as the best final to ever happen in Uganda for a while.
As the home crowd was rooting for the Ugandan player to win it and raise the Ugandan flag high, It wasn’t an easy match as predicted by many and it was worthy watching giving the fans what they deserved.
The action packed final started with Kelvin Nkandu leading 1-3 only for Kayanja to give the home crowd partial hope (coming from 1-3 down to lead 7-4). The action didn’t stop there as Kelvin brought the “lion” in him to level matters at 7-7.
Kayanja kept his composure though at a moment, every fan thought surely the championship was going to Zambia but he eventually gave the fans what they demanded (VICTORY AT HOME) winning 9-7.

Kayanja had to overcome the current Seed one Chandiga Ceasar, Ssejemba Ibra, Kazibwe Ian & Kelvin Nkandu in day 2 of the championship to win.
In the ladies category, Naiga Rukia took the 1st position after beating her sister Mutesi Rashida in the final.
Nimusiima Ritah came in as 3rd over and the 2024 national open champion who doubles as the pool queen, Kisakye Marion managed the fourth position.
