Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) has strengthened it’s defensive options with the addition of right-back Lazaro Bwambale, who arrives as a free agent following the expiry of his contract at Kitara FC.

The highly-rated defender was officially unveiled by the Lugogo-based outfit on Wednesday, July 3, 2025, through the club’s digital platforms.

“Lazaro Bwambale is officially a Kasasiro Boy. Welcome to the Yellow family,” the club announced in a social media post, confirming the move.

Bwambale, known for his energy and work rate on the flank, made a name for himself with consistent performances in the Uganda Premier League last season. His form earned him a call-up to the provisional Uganda Cranes squad currently preparing for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The 24-year-old now enters a competitive KCCA backline where he will contend for minutes with the likes of Haruna Lukwago, Filbert Obenchan, and Gavin Kizito.

His signing marks the club’s second acquisition of the current transfer window, following striker Ivan ‘Hunter’ Ahimbisibwe’s switch from URA FC.

With KCCA aiming to reclaim domestic dominance and challenge on the continental stage, Bwambale’s arrival adds much-needed depth and experience to the squad.
