KCCA FC has officially confirmed its leadership group for the 2025–26 season, with goalkeeper Charles Lukwago handed the captain’s armband. The announcement was made during the club’s Season Opener Briefing on Monday, September 22nd, at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, where the Kasasiro Boys also unveiled a 30-man squad for the new campaign.

Lukwago, who recently returned to the club, is no stranger to the captaincy role, having previously led KCCA to silverware. He was instrumental in the side that clinched Uganda Premier League titles in 2017 and 2019, as well as Uganda Cup triumphs in 2017 and 2018.

His most memorable moment as skipper came in 2019, when he guided the team to its second CECAFA Kagame Clubs Cup after a 41-year wait, cementing his reputation as a leader on and off the pitch.

Supporting him this season will be Fillbert Obenchan, Herbert Achayi, and Derrick Paul Nsibambi, who were all introduced before the club’s patron, city leadership, board members, and staff.

The unveiling also extended beyond the players, as the club presented a refreshed technical team. KCCA has appointed Brian Ssenyondo and Jackson Magera as co-head coaches, while former player Habib Kavuma returns to the club in a new capacity as assistant coach. The technical bench has been further strengthened with the addition of Afua Muajuma Namayanja as team physiotherapist.

There have also been changes within the medical and support staff. Long-serving team doctor Ivan Ssenwanyana, who has been with the club since 2015, will step down at the end of September to pursue new endeavors. Fitness and conditioning coach Felix Ayobo is away in Germany for further studies but is expected to resume his duties in December 2025.

Goalkeeping responsibilities will continue to be overseen by coaches Moses Oloya and Yasin Mugabi, while Emmanuel Tusuubira joins Namayanja in the medical department. The backroom team is completed by kits manager Bashir Kawoya and his assistant Betty Nantale, who remain central to the squad’s daily operations.

With Lukwago back at the helm, a new technical structure in place, and the squad finalized, KCCA FC heads into the 2025–26 season with fresh leadership and renewed ambition.
