The noise, colour, and energy that once defined KCCA’s glory days returned to Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo on Thursday — and with it came a winning feeling. The Kasasiro Boys edged rivals Express FC 1-0 in a tense affair, but the real victory was the rekindled bond between the team and its long-missing supporters.

After weeks of uncertainty surrounding the Uganda Premier League’s format, the return to the traditional home-and-away structure breathed new life into KCCA’s season. The stands were alive again, and coach Jackson Magera couldn’t hide his delight.

“Football without fans is empty,” he said with a grin after the match. “Their energy lifted us — you could feel the players feeding off it.”

Sammy Ssebaduka, the evening’s hero, delivered the decisive strike that sent the crowd into a frenzy. Magera hailed the versatile youngster as “a manager’s dream” — able to adapt and deliver when it matters most.

In the absence of co-coach Brian Ssenyondo, Magera orchestrated a disciplined display that underlined KCCA’s growing stability. The victory not only pushed them to third place on the log with eight points from four matches but also reignited belief around Nakivubo.

For KCCA, it wasn’t just three points — it was a homecoming of spirit, sound, and purpose. And with newcomers Calvary visiting on October 31, the Kasasiro faithful now have every reason to dream again.
