2020-2021 national rally champion Duncan Mubiru aka Kikankane will don Shell livery for the Pearl rally this weekend.
Kikankane now joins Shell sponsored crew of three time rally champion Ronald Sebuguzi.
The livery stormed the rally fraternity in the evening hours of yesterday as the blue coloured Ford Fiesta Proto hit the socials donning Shell logos. This came hours after the Vivo Energy managing director, Joanita Mukasa Menya hitting on the company’s addition of new rallying ambassador.
While handing over the 100 million UGX Pearl Rally sponsorship package to Hon. Jimmy Akena, the Federation of Motorsports Clubs in Uganda president, Menya said, “We are soon adding to our champion (Ronald Ssebuguzi) other drivers to give Shell more visibility.
Kikankane’s inclusion brings vast of experience to the Shell racing team as his proto car imported from Latvia has produced good results in recent events.
Ssebuguzi was maintained as the brand ambassador for the fuel giants extending the relationship that has lived for over a decade. He received 50million shillings distributed in form of cash and fuel.
This year’s event is scheduled for May 8th-10th, 2024, in Mbarara, covering a total distance of 486.26 km across 11 competitive sections.
