The much-anticipated Kampala Derby returns as SC Villa welcomes KCCA FC to the Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku for a crucial Uganda Premier League encounter.

Both sides are eager for all three points, with SC Villa especially hungry to secure their first win over KCCA FC since 2020.

Their previous meeting this season ended in a 1-1 stalemate at Lugogo, with Patrick Kakande equalizing after Sadat Anaku had given KCCA the lead.

Currently on a four-game winning streak across all competitions, Morley Byekwaso’s SC Villa will be aiming to extend their impressive form to five consecutive victories. KCCA, on the other hand, are targeting a strong finish in the 16-team table and are keen to avoid dropping points to their longtime rivals.

Speaking ahead of the derby, Villa head coach Byekwaso highlighted the significance of the fixture:
“We are well-prepared to face the defending champions in this derby. It’s going to be a tough match, and we’ve made that clear to the players during preparations. These are the two most successful clubs in Ugandan football—whenever they clash, expect fireworks,” he told the club media.

Heading into the tie, KCCA sit fifth on the table with 40 points, just two ahead of SC Villa in ninth, adding even more weight to this high-stakes showdown.
