Kitara FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over URA FC at Hamz Stadium, capitalizing on an early penalty to claim all three points. The game, saw Kitara adopt a resilient defensive approach after taking the lead.

The action started immediately as Kitara FC earned a penalty in the 2nd minute after Jimmy Kalema’s cross struck the hand of a URA defender Ronald Otti. Patrick Henry Kaddu calmly converted from the spot, sending goalkeeper Chrispas Kusiima the wrong way to put Kitara ahead.

URA tried to respond with efforts from Fred Amaku, Norman Namanya, and Justine Opiro, but Kitara’s disciplined defense held firm. Despite several long-range attempts and set-piece opportunities, the first half ended 1-0 in favoir of the visitors.

In the second half, URA came out with renewed intensity but struggled to break down Kitara’s backline. Kitara made several tactical substitutions, bringing on Isasc Doka Mweru, John Byamukama, and Amir Kakomo to maintain their defensive shape. URA also made changes, including the introduction of Denis Luzige Kisiriko, Living Kabon, Nyarwa Bitanyware Olimi, and Nicholas Kabonge to bolster their attack.

Despite late pressure, including a near-miss from Arthur Kiggundu off a corner, URA could not find the equalizer. Kitara managed the game expertly, frustrating the home side and holding on for a narrow win.
