Matchday One of the 2026 Buganda Masaza Cup delivered nine fixtures across the kingdom, producing 13 goals, five wins, and only two goalless draws.

The tournament kicked off June 13 at Mubende NTC Grounds, where defending champions Buweekula were held 0-0 by 2008 winners Kyaddondo.

Action resumed on June 20 at Kibibi Secondary School Playground. Dassan Mubiru’s strike handed Butambala a 1-0 win over Mawogola and all three points.

At Lutoboka Playground, islanders Ssese led through Raymond Kayemba before Shafic Nyanzi equalized for three-time champions Bulemeezi in a 1-1 draw.

Sunday saw Kyaggwe make a statement. Sharpshooter Lauben Lubwama buried the winner as they beat Mawokota 1-0 at Buwama Playground, a disciplined away performance.

Buddu thrilled the Kitovu Sports Arena crowd with a 2-1 victory over Buluuli, giving the three-time champions a perfect start while leaving Buluuli empty-handed.

Busujju edged Buvuma 1-0 at Kakindu Stadium. The narrow win puts them among the early pace-setters.

Busiro and Gomba shared the points in a 0-0 stalemate at Nabbingo. Both sides created chances but lacked the finish.

In Mityana, Ssingo overcame Kabula 2-1 in an entertaining clash, underlining their title ambitions with three valuable points.

Bugerere and Kooki traded blows at Ntenjeru, settling for a 1-1 draw in a balanced encounter.

Matchday Two returns next week at venues across Buganda.
