The Wakiso District Kabaddi Association successfully concluded the Wakiso District Kabaddi Championship, which served as the qualification tournament for the USSSA Ball Games II to be held in Gulu.
For the first time in history, more than 20 schools from Wakiso and Kampala participated in the championship, marking a significant milestone in the growth of kabaddi in the region.
The national and African champions, Kyadondo Secondary School, topped Group A in both the boys’ and girls’ categories. Meanwhile, St.
Barnabas College Migadde, the national girls’ champions and boys’ national finalists, topped Group B in both categories, setting up exciting finals against Kyadondo SS.

Girls’ Final
St. Barnabas College Migadde delivered a dominant performance, defeating Kyadondo SS 34–17 to claim the Wakiso District girls’ title.
The girls’ qualification standings for the USSSA Ball Games II in Gulu are:
St. Barnabas College Migadde – Champions
Kyadondo Secondary School – Runners-up
St. Peter’s Kungu – Third Place
Kololo High School – Fourth Place
These four schools will represent Wakiso District in the girls’ category at the USSSA Ball Games II in Gulu.
Boys’ Final
In the boys’ final, Kyadondo SS avenged last year’s defeat in Masindi by overcoming St. Barnabas College Migadde. Kyadondo SS scored 39 points against St. Barnabas’ 30 points to emerge as the Wakiso District Kabaddi Champions 2026.
The boys’ qualification standings for the USSSA Ball Games II in Gulu are:

St. Barnabas College Migadde – Runners-up
Kololo High School – Third Place
St. Peter’s Kungu – Fourth Place
These four schools will represent Wakiso District in the boys’ category at the USSSA Ball Games II in Gulu.

The championship showcased the continued growth and competitiveness of kabaddi in Wakiso District, with participating schools displaying exceptional talent and sportsmanship ahead of the national games in Gulu.
The tournament featuring 20 schools was held at Ridge Way Primary School, Matugga. The event showcased outstanding talent, sportsmanship, and teamwork among the participating schools.
