After rain twice washed away their meeting, the storm now shifts indoors — and onto the court.
JKL Lady Dolphins return to action tonight at the Lugogo Indoor Arena, looking to claw back into contention against a confident UCU Lady Canons side in the Women’s National Basketball League semifinals.

The defending champions have their backs to the wall, trailing 1–0 in the best-of-five series after UCU’s 57–46 victory in game one. But more than the scoreline, it was the manner of defeat that stung.
JKL’s usually fluid offense stuttered, their shooting deserted them, and star guard Brenda Ekone was held to just five points a rare off night for one of the league’s most lethal scorers.

The Lady Canons, on the other hand, look revitalized.
They turned a 25-all halftime tie into a statement win by dominating the second half and winning the rebounding battle 54–47. That composure and teamwork have suddenly turned them into the team to beat.

For JKL, tonight is about survival and pride. Their offense must rediscover rhythm, and their veterans, including Flavia Oketcho and Agatha Kamwada, must lift the team’s energy and leadership levels if they are to avoid slipping into a 0–2 hole.

The shift from the outdoor YMCA court to the Lugogo Indoor Arena could prove a blessing, offering a more controlled environment for both teams to showcase their best basketball after last week’s weather disruptions.

Before the women take the floor, the men’s third-place playoff between UCU Canons and Sommet will tip off at 7pm, setting the stage for a night that promises intensity, redemption, and high-stakes drama.
