KIU Rangers v JT Lady Jaguars – 7pm
Victoria Crocs v JT Jaguars- 9pm
JT Lady Jaguars will aim to assert their dominance once more when they face KIU Rangers on Wednesday evening in a National Basketball League showdown under the lights at Lugogo Indoor Arena.
Having edged the Rangers 60-58 in a tense first-round meeting, the Lady Jaguars will be looking to complete the season sweep — and they enter the contest on the back of an emphatic 92-63 thrashing of UPDF Lady Tomahawks. That win was a timely bounce-back after a sobering 30-point defeat at the hands of the title-holding JKL Lady Dolphins.

Against UPDF, the Jaguars were firing on all cylinders offensively, with Shakira Nanvubya leading the way with 21 points. She was ably supported by Brenda Kayaga (19), Rhoda Naggita (15), and Aziida Nabayunga (11), as the team showed its attacking versatility. Despite the dominant display, coach Roger Sseruyange will be keeping a close eye on the fitness of star forward Sarah Ageno, who remains sidelined with a knock. Ageno, who’s been a consistent double-double machine this season, would be a significant absentee in a game that could go down to the wire.
The KIU Rangers, meanwhile, are enjoying a late-season resurgence. After falling 75-61 to the KCCA Leopards earlier this month, they’ve put together an impressive three-game winning streak to even out their season record at 9-9. Recent victories over Miracle Eaglets, Nabisunsa, and Magic Stormers have restored belief within the squad.

But their last outing was anything but comfortable. The Rangers narrowly escaped with a win against the Stormers thanks to a clutch free throw from Sharon Kirabo in the dying seconds. Kirabo finished with a game-high 21 points, while Ines Kanyamunza chipped in with 17. However, the team’s issues on the boards and lack of bench scoring once again came to the fore — they were outrebounded 60-39 and got just 11 points from their substitutes.
If KIU are to avoid being swept by the Lady Jaguars, they’ll need more balance and grit, particularly on defense and in second-chance situations. With both sides pushing for strong finishes to the regular season, this midweek encounter promises intensity, rivalry, and high stakes — just what you’d expect from two playoff hopefuls on a collision course.
