Match Preview: KCCA vs BUL FC – Uganda Premier League
Saturday, April 12, 2025 | Lugogo Stadium |
It’s a clash of contrasting moods as KCCA FC welcomes high-flying BUL FC to the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Saturday, with both teams looking to make a statement in the Uganda Premier League.

Magera’s First Test in New Spell
Following a bruising 4-0 defeat to Kitara, KCCA responded by parting ways with head coach Abdallah Mubiru, ushering in Jackson Magera as interim coach. Magera, who previously stunned Vipers during his short spell after Sergio Traguil’s exit, is looking to inspire a bounce-back performance.
“The players need to show character. There is a lot they have to prove and love up to their expectations,” noted Magera.
Kikomeko’s BUL Out for More
Abbey Bogere Kikomeko is aware of the challenge that lies ahead, especially facing a wounded KCCA side desperate to redeem themselves in front of home fans.
“We know they will come out to make a statement following a defeat from Kitara. But we are ready to deal with them,” reasoned Kikomeko
BUL FC comes into the game in red-hot form unbeaten in their last seven second-round games, with only a draw at Mbarara City denying them a perfect run. They currently sit 3rd with 39 points, just five behind league leaders, and are the only team yet to lose a game in the second round.

Team News
KCCA FC may welcome back Derrick Nsibambi from injury and Joel Sserunjogi from suspension, offering much-needed depth and energy.
However, they are likely to miss Etienne Katenga, Umar Lutalo, Mustafa Mujjuzi, and Sadat Anaku due to various setbacks.
Recent Head-to-Head

The Kasasiro Boys’ last win over BUL came at Lugogo in 2023.
