More than 400 swimmers from 23 clubs have registered for the 2025 Dolphins Swim Club Junior Championship, set to take place this weekend, April 12th and 13th, at Kampala Parents School in Naguru, a suburb of Kampala.
Organized by Dolphins Swim Club Kampala, the annual invitational event brings together talented swimmers aged between 5 and 11 years from across Uganda and the region.

This year’s edition proudly welcomes Yawe Team Kenya as the visiting club from Kenya, joining notable Ugandan clubs such as Sailfish Swim Club, Aqua Akii Swim Club, Whales Swim Academy, Aquatics Academy, among others.
The championship, now in its third edition since returning post-COVID in 2022, continues to grow in popularity and competitiveness.
Young swimmers will compete across various age categories: 5–7 years, 8–9 years, and 10–11 years, in both boys and girls divisions. Participation is based on qualifying times to ensure a high level of competition.
Athletes will contest in a range of swimming styles including freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and the individual medley. The event will also feature mixed and individual relays.

Winners and participants will be recognized with medals, merit and participation certificates, age-group trophies, and gift hampers, ensuring every swimmer goes home celebrated.
The Dolphins Junior Championship has become a key fixture in Uganda’s swimming calendar, providing a platform to nurture young talent and promote competitive swimming from an early age.
