Coach Jackson Magera’s tenure as interim head coach of KCCA FC got off to a disappointing start as his side suffered a 2-1 defeat to BUL FC in a Uganda Premier League clash held at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
Magera, who took over from the sacked Abdallah Mubiru on Thursday, admitted his side was undone by defensive lapses but promised improvement in the games ahead.

“We played well, but we didn’t defend well, which cost us the match,” Magera said after the game.
“We are going to work on reducing those mistakes and make sure the team bounces back to winning ways.”
BUL took the lead through Jerome Kirya in the first half before Karim Ndugwa doubled the advantage after the restart, continuing the Jinja-based side’s unbeaten run in the second round of the season.
Ashraf Mugume pulled one back late for KCCA, but it was too little, too late.
The result sees KCCA remain sixth on the log with 34 points, while BUL strengthens their title ambitions in third place with 42 points. Vipers SC lead the standings with 53 points, two ahead of second-placed NEC.
