With only one matchday left in the 2026 Buganda Masaza Cup group stage, the stakes could not be higher.

Under the tournament structure, the top two teams from each of the three groups automatically advance to the quarterfinals, alongside the two best third-placed teams overall.

Rora Media brings you how the battle for all eight quarterfinal spots stands after Matchday 9.

Current Standings & Quarterfinal Trajectory

Bulange Group: Buddu (18 pts) and Kyaddondo (16 pts) currently hold the automatic qualification slots. Busujju sits in 3rd with 14 pts (0 GD), making them strong contenders for a best third-place ticket if they close out the group stage with a win.

Masengere Group: Kyaggwe leads comfortably with 20 pts, while Gomba holds 2nd with 16 pts. Ssese sits in 3rd with 14 pts (+3 GD). They position themselves as the current top-ranked third-placed team across all three groups.

Muganzirwazza Group: Butambala tops the group with 18 pts, followed by Mawogola in 2nd with 15 pts. Bugerere sits in 3rd with 14 pts (+2 GD), keeping them right in the mix for both automatic qualification and a third-place qualification berth.

What to Watch on Matchday 10

The 14-Point Logjam: Ssese, Bugerere, and Busujju are all tied at 14 points. Goal difference on the final day will decide which two claim the wildcard spots if none jump into the top two of their respective groups.

Muganzirwazza Chaos: Mawogola (15 pts), Bugerere (14 pts), Kkooki (12 pts), and Ssingo (12 pts) are all within three points of each other, setting up a dramatic scramble for the second automatic spot behind Butambala.

Outside Threats: Kkooki and Ssingo (12 pts each in Muganzirwazza) along with Buweekula (12 pts in Bulange) still have a mathematical chance to reach 15 points and disrupt the third-place rankings.
