Hosts Rayon Sports Women FC kept their qualification hopes firmly alive with an emphatic 3-0 victory over Eritrea’s Denden FC. While South Sudan champions Yei Joint Stars maintained their perfect start at the Kigali Pele Stadium.
In Sunday’s second double-header fixture, Rayon Sports produced an explosive opening sequence before putting the game beyond doubt in stoppage time.

Regine Ihirwe opened the scoring in the 18th minute following an assist from Jeannette Ukwinkunda. Just a minute later, the roles reversed as Ihirwe provided the pass for Ukwinkunda to double the lead.
Evelyne Ishimwe Mizero sealed the comprehensive victory in the 93rd minute, heading home Emerancy Niyonshuti’s late delivery.

Earlier in the day, Yei Joint Stars edged Zanzibar’s Mafunzo WFC 1-0 in a tightly contested match. Captain Mary Anger Noi proved to be the difference-maker, breaking the deadlock in the 70th minute to secure all three points.
