Mbale Heroes FC 1-3 Lugazi FC
Mbale Heroes relegation woes have worsen after a frustrating 3-1 home defeat against fellow new comers Lugazi FC at Mbale Stadium on Thursday 13th March 2025.
Sam Ssemugugu, Hussein Ssenoga and Sharif Saaka netted for Lugazi while Robert Eseru scored Heroes’ consolation.
Ssemugugu gave visitors lead in the third minutes of the game before January recruit Ssenoga doubled the lead for Lugazi in the 31st minute.
There was a delay to resume the second half following a heavy downpour and it required the pitch to be demarcated again.
Mbale Heroes pulled one back through Robert Eseru but this only served as a consolation.
Mbale Heroes remain bottom of the 16-team Uganda Premier League table with 10 points from 20 games after registering just 2 wins, 4 draws and suffering 14 defeats.
The Surgeons have scored only 8 goals and conceded 38 (GD -30). To survive relegation, they need to win 7 out of the remaining 10 games.
