Miracle Eaglets registered a close 58-52 victory over the UPDF Lady Tomahawks in a thrilling National Basketball League clash at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday.
The Lady Tomahawks struggled early, managing just 14 points across the first two quarters, allowing the Eaglets to take firm control of the game.
Linda Michelle Aber’s driving layup closed the first period with the Lady Tomahawks trailing by only two points, but a sluggish second quarter saw them score just six points, as the Eaglets opened a commanding 13-point lead at halftime.
Despite a spirited third-quarter fightback, the Lady Tomahawks still found themselves seven points adrift heading into the final stretch.
The fourth quarter was an end-to-end affair, but the Eaglets stayed composed to seal a narrow six-point win.
Stella Maris Lunkuse starred for the Lady Tomahawks with an impressive double-double of 15 points and 17 rebounds.
For the Eaglets, Winniefred Akello also posted a dominant double-double, tallying 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Mariam Namukwaya and Brenda Alyano chipped in with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
