The StarTimes Uganda Premier League resumes after the international break with biggest clash which will take place at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, where second placed NEC will face traditional giants Express FC under the floodlights.

NEC (44 points), currently five points behind leaders Vipers SC, will be looking to close the gap with a win.

They enter the game with great confidence after a solid 3-1 victory over Maroons just before the break. NEC is in a strong position to challenge for the top spot, but they will need to continue their winning run to keep the pressure on Vipers, who won’t be in action until Saturday when they visit champions SC Villa.

Express FC (28 points), on the other hand, are struggling with form after suffering successive defeats.

With only one win in their last five league matches, they will be aiming to bounce back and climb into the top five with a victory.

Express did manage to beat NEC 1-0 in the reverse fixture at Nakivubo, handing NEC their first loss of the season, so they will be looking to repeat that performance and reignite their season.

Both teams are highly motivated, and this match is expected to be a thrilling encounter, with NEC looking to close the gap on the league leaders and Express hoping to recover from a tough patch and push for a higher finish in the table.
