NEC FC secured a 2-0 victory over Mbale Heroes in the Uganda Premier League on Friday at Lugogo. This win kept their title aspirations alive.
James Jeriko and Cromwell Rwothomio each scored in each half as NEC moved to 54 points in the second position, five below table leaders Vipers.

The victory was crucial for NEC who were bouncing back from a 3-1 loss to Vipers.
On the other hand, Mbale Heroes continues to struggle as they have only 10 points from 25 games. They remain bottom and there chances of surviving relegation are minimum.
