Nile Queen’s final Squad for the 26th edition Africa Cup of Nations revealed

After weeks of intense preparation, head coach Oroitin Jimmy Remmie and the technical team have selected a dynamic fourteen squad ready to compete for the Africa Cup of Nations Return After 45 Years since continental championship in 1978 in Algiers, Algeria.

The Nile Queens began a residential training camp on October 5, 2024, in Bakuli, Mengo with a group of 24 players. Head coach Jimmy Remie Orotin has named 14 players for the final squad to represent Uganda in Africa cup of nations in Dr Congo.

The 26th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations will be held in Kinshasa, DR Congo, from November 27 to December 7, 2024.

Uganda is placed in group B alongside hosts DR Congo, Angola, Tunisia, Guinea, and Cameroon. The top four teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals.

This tournament also serves as a qualifier for the 2025 Women’s Handball World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Germany and the Netherlands.

The team will depart from Entebbe international Airport on Monday 25th November 2024 at 3:50am expected to arrive in Kinshasa on the same date at 9:15am Local time
