The Mawokota Ssaza chief Owek Sarah Nannono has confirmed the committee that will oversee the organization of this year’s Kayima cup.The development was reached on yesterday Friday at Mawokota Ssaza headquarters in kammengo, Butoolo as Nannono read nine people for organizing committee which will be led by Mr Solomon Mwaja as chairman.
Nsubuga Emmanuel has been named the tournament secretary, while Sserulyo Livingston the Kayima cup ahead of Marketing.
The chairman organizing committee Mwaja revealed that this year’s Kayima cup will compete in Six sports disciplines include football, Netball, Omweso, Amaato g’empaka, Tug of War and Ekijjo Kya Buganda.
Mutuba I Mpigi were the champions of the 2024 Kayima Cup in both football and netball. They beat Musaale Buwama in a 5-4 penalty shoot out following a one all draw.
Bashir Nsubuga scored for Mutuba I Mpigi while Makubuya was the goal scorer for Musaale Buwama.
In netball, Mutuba I Mpigi also defeated Ssabagabo Muduma 36-32 to emerge champion.
The 2025 Kayima Cup edition shall kick off on Saturday 22nd February 2025 at Mpigi Police were defending champions Mutuba I Mpigi hosts Mumyuka Kammengo.
