Gombolola Cup 2025 opener
Ggombolola Mut .IV Kawuga 1- 0 Mumyuka Nakifuma
The Minister for youth, sports and arts, Owek Robert Sserwanga yesterday officially launched the Sub County competitions (Ggombolola Cup) at Bishop SS in Mukuno, Kyaggwe.

The Ssekiboobo Cup kicked off the 2025 Ggombolola cup at Bishop SS in Kyaggwe were Mut IV Kawuga defeated Mumyuka Nakifuma in the opening game.
Mut IV Kawuga takes Bragging Rights in Opener through Hassan Ssentongo strike’s to give the hosts victory at the opening match of the Ggombolola Cup.

The event kicked off yesterday as Owek Robert Sserwanga launched it and attended the swearing in of new Kyaggwe youth leaders at the Ssaza headquarters and was welcomed by 1st vice Ssekiboobo Owek Ssenyonjo.

Ssekiboobo (Kyaggwe Ssaza Chief), who witnessed the opener, thanked teams for the level of talent displayed and further requested all other Ggombololas to up preparations to ensure an entertaining competition from start to end.
The Ssekiboobo Cup flagged off this year’s Ggombolola competitions and the tournament played in the all 18 counties that make up the Buganda Kingdom.

In the media brief with Owek. Robert Sserwanga Ssalongo stated that, “These competitions are to prepare players for both Masaza Cup and Bika bya Baganda football tournaments and we believe by the end of the year we will be able to feed clubs from top leagues and the national team.”
Sserwanga called upon all people with Buganda to come and support all the 175 sub counties.
The Ggombolola Cup is expected to climax in June before the Masaza Cup 2025 kicks off in July 2025.
