Police FC Cruise to 4-0 Victory Over Buhimba United Saints, Move Joint Top in UPL

Police FC thrashed Buhimba United Saints 4-0 at Kira Road ground on Wednesday, moving to joint-top of the Uganda Premier League table with KCCA and SC Villa, each having 17 points. KCCA lead on better head to head. Buhimba remain 13th with 9 points after the heavy defeat.

The match kicked off with both teams looking to gain an early advantage, but it was Police who drew first blood in the 28th minute. Denis Kalanzi pounced on a rebound after a fierce shot from Lawrence Tezikya was parried back into play by Buhimba’s keeper Jamil Kiyimba.

Just before halftime, in the 41st minute, Police doubled their lead. Obedi Brian intercepted a pass and set up Umaru Kasumba for a simple tap-in, sending the hosts into the break with a 2-0 advantage.

The second half saw more action, with Police extending their lead further in the 59th minute. Saidi Kyeyune finished off a brilliant assist from Kalanzi, making it 3-0.

As the game approached its final stages, Derrick Maviiri sealed the victory in the 80th minute, punishing his former side by scoring Police’s fourth goal, assisted by Emmanuel Mugume.

Buhimba struggled to get into the game and were unable to mount any serious challenge after the early goals, with the match ending 4-0 in favor of Police.
