FUFA Big League side Kataka FC pulled off a dramatic upset against URA FC, knocking out the Stanbic Uganda Cup three-time champions in a thrilling penalty shootout to book their place in the quarterfinals.

URA thought they had won it late when Abraham Tusubira converted a penalty with just 10 minutes left on the clock, but Kataka had other plans, finding an equalizer six minutes later to push the game to penalties after 1-1 at Hamz stadium.

In the shootout, URA’s Lubwama missed his spot-kick, while Kataka converted all their penalties, securing a famous victory and eliminating one of the tournament’s favorites on 5-4.

In another fixture, another big league side, Kaaro Karungi dominated UPDF FC with a convincing 3-0 victory, comfortably securing their spot in the last eight.
This was a huge result for Kaaro Karungi FC, knocking out a Uganda Premier League side in style.

However UPDF FC will be disappointed with their performance, especially conceding three without reply. Playing away in Ntungamo was always going to be a challenge, but Kaaro Karungi fully capitalized on their home advantage.
Seremba Musa’s goal seemed to set the tone for the game, and with Gideon Onyango and Clinton Kamugisha adding to the tally, UPDF FC had no way back.
