Rwanda Energy Group (REG) Volleyball Club has confirmed the return of seasoned coach Benon Bavuga Mugisha, who takes the helm from outgoing Cameroonian tactician Patrice Ndaki Mboulet.
Mugisha, who previously led REG to the 2019/20 league title, rejoins the club on a two-year contract with a clear mandate: to restore REG to its former dominance on the Rwandan volleyball scene.
A respected figure in regional volleyball circles, Mugisha brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record. He notably steered Uganda’s Sport-S Volleyball Club to two National Volleyball League championships, solidifying his reputation as one of the top coaches in East Africa.
At REG, he will work alongside Ugandan international Gideon Nespal Angiro, adding further synergy to the team’s technical and tactical setup.
As part of their preparations for upcoming competitions, including the Genocide Memorial Tournament (GMT), REG is also actively bolstering its squad. Their latest acquisition is Ntanteteri Crispin, who joins from Police Volleyball Club.
With Mugisha back at the helm and key additions underway, REG looks poised for a revitalized campaign both domestically and on the regional stage.
