Mutebi, showed what he is good at, over the weekend by winning the Rukaari Lake Mburo Autocross that was staged at Mwesigwa resort on Saturday. To win this event, Mutebi codriven by Stephen Bunya, beat off competition from the likes of Dr. Moustapha Mukasa, Musa Ssegaabwe, Andy Musoke among others in the one-day event.

Driving a Mitsubishi Evo 9, the Red Sun sponsored driver cloclocked a time of 00:12:25.17 to beat Ssegaambwe and Musoke who did 00:12:36.00 and 00:13:27.00 minutes for the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
“We are happy we are doing well on our comeback and we can say we are ready to take on the stronger machines come the 2025 season. My car is old but what we are going to do now is to organize 15000 USD (about 55m) to put it right. The good thing is my sponsor (Redsun international) has stayed with us for the next season so expect us on the table of men,” Said Mutebi.
Mutebi finished forth on the 2024 NRC championship after a 10-year rally sabbatical with 213.5 points, behind Moustapha Mukasa, Ronald Ssebuguzi and eventual champion Jas Mangat. He adds that, “On 26 December, we will be there in Busiika to show our funs and other competitors that we are good to go for next season.”

Home boy Didas Matsiko who finished the 2024 NRC season in 9th position had his Subaru Impreza N14 develop engine problems in the second round of the two-round-5.8km lap and finished in 6th while Yasin Mukasa finished in 5th with another home boy Topher Kateera also having problems with his car to finish 9th.
