The Uganda national beach soccer team, affectionately known as the Sand Cranes, has learned their group opponents for the upcoming CECAFA Beach Soccer Championship. According to the official draw and match fixtures released by CECAFA Executive Director, Auka Gecheo, Uganda has been drawn in Group A alongside Tanzania and Seychelles.
Tournament Details
The CECAFA Beach Soccer Championship is scheduled to take place from July 16th to 20th, 2025, at Pirates Beach in Mombasa, Kenya. The Sand Cranes will kick off their campaign on July 17th, 2025, against Tanzania at 4:30 PM. They will then face Seychelles on July 18th, 2025, at 1:30 PM.
Groupings
The groupings for the tournament are as follows:
- Group A: Uganda, Tanzania, Seychelles
- Group B: Kenya, Malawi, Burundi, Zanzibar
