The inaugural edition of the Uganda Kabaddi Open League officially kicked off with three exciting matches played at Way School Matugga. This historic event marks the first time kabaddi has been organized in a league format in Uganda, featuring six teams that will compete every Sunday.

The first games saw Nile Kabaddi Club beating Star Pirates by 51-40 points with the huge performance from their captain Gombe Stanley scoring both 15 tackle points and raiding points. Timothy Lubwama the Ugandan best defender scored 15 tackle points and he become the best defender of day one.

Jakana Super Bullets smashed Kampala Kabaddi Club by 53-41 with great performance from Luqman Kayima scoring 18 rading points above all Jakana players.

Jimmy Ssengendo’s War Jaguar struggled against Superior Kabaddi Club with the defeat of 40 points to 56.

Top Performers

The top performers from the first day of the Uganda Kabaddi Open League are:

  • Top Raiders: Wandeka Mubarak, Machari Joel, Kayima, and Luqman
  • Top Defenders: Lubwama Timothy, Kaweesi Jordan, and Sewanonda John

The league promises to be an exciting competition, with 150 players showcasing their skills and talent. The Uganda Kabaddi Open League is off to a thrilling start, and fans can expect more action-packed matches every Sunday.
