The Uganda national women’s Kabaddi team, the “She Gradiators,” is gearing up for the 2nd Women’s Kabaddi World Cup in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from November 15th to 25th, 2025. The team has begun a rigorous residential training camp in Matuga, focusing on refining their skills and tactics.
The Kabaddi Federation of Uganda (KFU) announced the final 13-player squad in July 2025, featuring experienced players who have been instrumental in the team’s success. The team is confident after defending their title at the Africa Kabaddi Women’s Cup, where they defeated Zanzibar in the final.
Despite funding challenges, the KFU is working tirelessly to secure support from the government and private sector to ensure the team’s participation in the World Cup. Uganda is one of 14 countries confirmed to participate, highlighting the growing presence of Kabaddi on the international stage.

The KFU aims to nurture young talent through school championships and plans to send a junior team to the Junior World Cup in 2026, following the African Junior Championship in December 2025.
