The FUFA Beach Soccer League 2025/26 returned with a vengeance this past Sunday, February 15, as Bunjako Beach played host to a goal-laden Match Day 6.

The day was headlined by a clinical performance from St. Lawrence University (SLAU) and a gritty double-victory for Mutoola BSC, while the title race took yet another dramatic turn in the scorching sands of Buwama.

Defending champions St. Lawrence University started their day in ruthless fashion, dismantling Buganda Royal with a 4-0 whitewash. The usual suspect, Paul Lukyamuzi, was the architect of the destruction, bagging a brace, while Junior Kagezi and Jonathan Kikonyogo added the finishing touches to a dominant display.

However, the “game of the day” was undoubtedly the university derby between MUBS and SLAU. In a pulsating encounter that ended 2-2 in regular time, neither side was willing to blink. Edwin Bukenya and Thomas Lasu found the net for MUBS, while Rajab Ssemakula and Paul Lukyamuzi kept SLAU in the hunt.
The deadlock forced a penalty shootout, where St. Lawrence displayed superior nerves, winning 2-1 on penalties to secure a vital bonus point in their quest to retain the crown.

If there was a “Team of the Week” award, it would belong to Mutoola BSC. They picked up maximum points from two matches, signaling their intent to gatecrash the title party.
In their first outing, they brushed aside Grace Church 4-1, with Paul Nsenge netting twice. They followed that up with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Muteesa 1 Royal University, thanks to goals from Simon Peter Kijjo and Salim Kiyaga.

Kampala City Keep Pace
Kampala City ensured they stayed in the championship conversation with a convincing 4-2 win over Muteesa 1 Royal. In a well-distributed scoring effort, Paul Kato, Sharif Opuuli, Brian Nkuubi, and Edrine Lukya all registered their names on the scoresheet, rendering strikes from Muteesa’s Mathius Mukasa and Hakim Masoli mere consolations.
