The Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) is prioritizing safety with a refresher course for over 100 marshals and safety officials.
The one-day training, held on Feb 16, 2026, in Ndebba, focused on counter-terrorism measures and public safety protocols for the upcoming Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally.

Key facilitators included ASSP Hussein Nsobya from the Counter Terrorism Unit, former FMU deputy president Kisitu Mayanja, and FMU vice president Hajji Hamid Gombe. The training aims to equip officials with skills to handle emergencies and ensure spectator safety on rally days.
The Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally is set to kick off the 2026 motorsport calendar, with the Mbale City rally scheduled for March 27-28. Would you like to know more about the rally or FMU’s safety initiatives?
