Kenyan Premier League giants Tusker have officially announced the exit of nine players as the club begins reshaping its squad ahead of the new season.
Among those leaving are three Ugandans; Boban Zirintusa, John Byamukama, and Deogratious Ojok whose contracts have all come to an end.
The Nairobi-based outfit, also known as the Brewers, also confirmed that several local players will also depart following the expiration of their deals. These include James Kibande, Luke Namanda, David Odoyo, Mike Oduor, and Lawrence Luvanda.
Additionally, defender Yussuf Mainge will return to his parent club Police FC after completing a season-long loan at Ruaraka.
Tusker’s Chief Executive Officer, Sam Nzau, expressed gratitude to the departing players:
“We deeply appreciate their dedication and service to the club. Each of them has played a role in our journey, both on and off the pitch. We wish them nothing but success in their future careers.”
The exits mark the beginning of a squad overhaul for Tusker, who are looking to bounce back stronger in the upcoming campaign. Left-back George Kaddu and experienced defender Denis Iguma remain the only Ugandan players still on the club’s roster.
Further changes are expected at Tusker as the club prepares for a competitive season ahead.
