The Uganda Cranes were defeated 3-0 by the Cameroon Indomitable Lions in an international friendly held at the Stade de Marrakech Annexe in Morocco on Friday, 6th June 2025.
Cameroon’s goals came from Flavien Boyomo, Jean Batoum, and Patrick Soko.
Boyomo, a defender for Osasuna, opened the scoring in the 34th minute, heading in a well-placed free-kick delivered from the left flank by Stade Rennais fullback Mahamadou Nagida.
Just two minutes into the second half, Jean Batoum doubled Cameroon’s advantage with a powerful header from a corner taken by CSKA Sofia’s right back, James Eto’o.

Cameroon sealed the win in the 67th minute when Huesca striker Patrick Soko slotted home a precise through ball from Vincent Aboubakar, who had come on for Adrien Mfoumou at halftime.
Players including, goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa, along with outfield players Tobby Sibbick, Arnold Odong, Nico Wakiro Wadada, Ivan Ahimbisibwe, Abdu Karim Watambala, and Isaac Muleme, remained on the bench and did not feature in the match.
Cameroon, under the guidance of head coach Marc Brys, currently ranks 50th in the FIFA World Rankings. Uganda sits in 89th position.
The Uganda Cranes’ next friendly fixture is scheduled for 9th July 2025, also in Morocco, where they will face The Gambia, who are ranked 126th globally.
