The National Council of Sports have flagged off Uganda’s national pool teams (men and women) with hopes high ahead of the Ultimate pool championship in Mpumalanga, South Africa.
The Ultimate pool championship in South Africa” is the Africa Ultimate Pool Championship, taking place from October 13-18, 2025, at Ebundu Lodge in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. Teams from various African nations are participating, with Uganda’s national team being a prominent example of a participant.
The two teams were flagged off by National Council of Sports on Friday evening and the players are breaming with confidence and consists of 16 players and six officials will depart on Sunday evening
Men’s Pool Cranes captain Rashid Wagaba aka Dog City shares his opinion on the upcoming task at the Ultimate Pool championship in Mpumalanga.
“We have prepared well and had training for about three days. I have the confidence that we shall perform well in South Africa because all the players on the team are talented.”
The ladies’ team is a blend of experience and fresh Rashida Mutesi, Rita Nimusiima, Marion Kisakye and Zaimatt Nambafu are some of the tried and tested players on the team that travelled.
The men’s side has the best players in the league including skipper Rashid Wagaba, Simon Lubulwa, Caesar Chandiga and Joseph Kasozi among others.
The team had intensive three training session micking the playing conditions for the Ultimate pool championship at Adis Spot in Kireka under the stewardship of acting head coach Nathan Bwankosya.

Zaimati Nabafu , Marion Kisakye, Jacinta Kajubi, Ritah Nimusiima,Amina Faith Nganda (Captain), Juliet Namuhanga, Rashida Mutesi and Rukia Naiga .
