Uganda is gearing up to welcome the East African Community (EAC) to Kampala as preparations intensify for the 15th EAC Inter-Parliamentary Games, scheduled for December 5–17, 2025. The event will bring together legislators from across the region under the theme, “One Region, One Community: Advancing Integration Through Parliaments and Sports.”

After three days of deliberations in Kampala, the Joint Planning Committee (JPC) gave Uganda a clean bill of readiness to host the prestigious tournament, which blends diplomacy, regional integration, and sportsmanship.

Addressing journalists at a press briefing on Monday, November 3, the Local Organising Committee Chairperson, Hon. Asuman Basalirwa, confirmed that logistical and medical preparations are on track, with leading hospitals such as Kampala Hospital, Nakasero, Aga Khan, IHK, Mulago, and Nsambya designated to provide medical support throughout the competition.

Basalirwa noted that fixtures will soon be published, with free public entry to all matches aimed at boosting fan attendance and community engagement.

“These games are more than sport they’re about strengthening bonds between East Africans,” he said. “We’re confident Uganda will deliver a memorable event that reflects our unity, hospitality, and commitment to integration.”

The Inter-Parliamentary Games serve as a social and diplomatic bridge among member states, using sport as a tool for cooperation and cultural exchange. As delegations finalize their travel plans, Uganda stands ready to host an event that promises not just competition, but celebration of East African solidarity.
