Uganda to host 2025 IHF Africa Zone 5 Handball Challenge Trophy

Uganda has been selected to host the 2025 Africa Zone 5 International Handball Federation (IHF) Challenge Trophy.

The tournament will be organized by the Uganda Handball Federation in Conjunction with the International Handball Federation body and It focuses on the ages below 19 years and 17 years.

The event will bring together National Youth and Junior teams from Kenya, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, South Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and Uganda.

The tournament is scheduled from May 6th to May 10th, 2025. The Ugandan team will summoned and a training program will be communicated in the next two weeks.

“We are glad that the international body has once again selected us to host this event which will bring together about seven nations,” Sheila Agonzibwa, President of the Uganda Handball Federation (UHF) told Rora Media on Sunday.

This year’s cycle is for the women’s category and below are the selected coaches to take on the
teams:

Coaches for the Uganda National U19 yearsTeam:

  1. Kongo Ibrahim – Head Coach (Uganda Prisons)
  2. Ms. Kisitu Farida – Assistant Coach (Uganda Police)
  3. Mr. Ayet Fred – Goalkeepers’ coach (Uganda Police)

Coaches for the Uganda National U17 years Team:

  1. Mr. Ndahura M. Aaron – Head Coach (Ever Green)
  2. Ms. Nantume Barbara – Assistant Coach (Kawanda S.S.)
  3. Mr. Ayo Patrick – Goal Keepers’ Coach (Wampewo)

Team Manager – Mr. Pirwoth Emmans Diego
Team Doctor – Mr. Namuli Agnes (Prisons)
Team Media – Mr. Omiella Valentino
