Ugandan referee Shamirah Nabadda has been selected as one of the 14 referees for the upcoming Total Energies CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to take place in Egypt from April 27 to May 18, 2025.
She is the only representative from Uganda among the 56 officials chosen by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Nabadda, who earned her FIFA badge in 2017, has officiated at several prestigious tournaments, including the CAF Women’s Champions League finals, CECAFA qualifiers, the All Africa Games, and the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Her selection further solidifies her reputation as one of Africa’s top referees.
The tournament was initially set to be hosted by Ivory Coast but was relocated to Egypt. Nabadda will join a team that includes 10 VAR officials, 14 assistant referees, and other technical and administrative personnel.

Congratulations good luck
