Shamirah Nabadda has earned a prestigious appointment to represent Uganda at the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) 2024, scheduled to take place in Morocco from July 5th to 26th, 2025.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) officially named Nabadda among the elite group of referees chosen to officiate at the continent’s most competitive women’s football tournament. Her selection is a testament to her consistency, professionalism, and rising reputation on the international stage.

This will not be the first time Nabadda features at a major CAF event. She has previously officiated in top-tier competitions both within Uganda and across Africa, steadily building her credentials as one of the region’s most respected female referees.
Her inclusion in the WAFCON 2024 officiating team marks a proud moment not just for her career but also for Ugandan football. It highlights the growing presence and influence of Ugandan officials in international football arenas.

As the WAFCON brings together the best women’s national teams from across Africa, Nabadda’s role will be crucial in ensuring fair play and upholding the standards of officiating at the highest level. Her journey serves as an inspiration for aspiring referees across the continent, particularly young women pursuing careers in sports officiating.
