Ugandan referees have secured slots on FIFA’s International Refereeing Lists for the 2026 season, following formal communication received by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).
The inclusion highlights Uganda’s growing reputation in match officiating and underscores the effectiveness of FUFA’s long-term strategy to nurture, evaluate and expose referees to high-level competition beyond the local scene.

With representation in multiple officiating categories, the appointed officials are now eligible to handle matches at both FIFA and CAF tournaments throughout the 2026 calendar.
FUFA’s Referees Committee has intensified its focus on modern officiating demands, placing strong emphasis on conditioning, ethics, performance monitoring and continuous education through domestic and international training programmes designed to meet evolving global requirements.
